F09 - Summer Art in the Afternoon: June 9-June 13

Get your kids to dive into art! Get them out of the sun through these fun filled summer afternoons of hands-on/ minds on colorful explorations. Each of the first four days of the weeklong session will explore a different art medium culminating by putting them all together on the last day to create a mixed-medium expression. Parents and family members and friends are invited to a final day exhibit of weekly work. Each week will offer different experiences based on returning and/or new students and their grade levels.

Offered by Swansboro resident, Carolyn McDearmon an insured, independent art educator and contracted instructor with Town of Swansboro.

Grade levels: 3-8; Ages: 8-13. Registration fee: $200 per student per week. All materials are supplied. EARLY REGISTRATION $180 BY APRIL 25TH

Caregiver volunteers are allowed as space allows. Inquire how to become a volunteer..

Note: Afternoons may include outdoors observations. Students should bring a snack and a drink and dress for creating art (ie: apron, short sleeved or easy roll up sleeved shirts) and for being outdoors, including hats, sun and bug protections applied before classes begin. Allergies are to be noted upon registration.

Program and Vendor Cancellation/Withdrawal

Department Cancellation:

100% refund if no make-up date or the participant is not able to attend new date.



Participant Withdrawal:
Cancellation at least two weeks in advance results in 100%.
Cancellation within two weeks to 48 hours results in 50% refund of fees.
Cancellation with less than 48 hours’ notice results in no refund.
A refund for medical reasons requested prior to the start date of a program may be granted at 100%, subject to verification.
Non-attendance or non-participation in a program does not entitle a patron to a refund of the registration fee.

If a participant withdraws and the space can be filled by another participant, a full refund can be granted.

Department Directors may approve full to partial refunds for unusual circumstances limited to medical, job relocations, dissatisfaction and other circumstances.
** Withdrawal fees for programs that have a withdrawal policy specifically outlined are not subject to the conditions of the General Participant Withdrawal.
